Minute Maid Limeade Daiquiri Recipe

A Minute Maid Daiquiri is a frozen daiquiri made the shortcut way: frozen Minute Maid limeade concentrate blended with white rum and ice. The concentrate brings the lime and the sugar, so there is nothing to squeeze or measure beyond the rum. The ratio is 4 parts concentrate to 1 part rum, which makes a sweet-tart, fairly light drink; add another half ounce of rum if you like it stronger.

METHOD

How to make it

  1. Add the limeade concentrate, rum, ice and sugar, if using, to a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth and slushy, about 30 seconds. Add a splash of water if it is too thick, or a few more ice cubes if it is too thin.
  3. Pour into a chilled glass and garnish with a lime slice and a mint sprig.

Recipe notes

  • The concentrate is already sweet, so taste before adding sugar.
  • For a pitcher of four, blend one 12-oz can of concentrate with 3 oz rum and 3 cups of ice, in batches if needed.
  • No concentrate? Mix 1 1/2 oz fresh lime juice with 1 oz simple syrup in its place.

Minute Maid limeade concentrate is sold frozen in 12-oz cans. Let it sit out for 10 minutes so it scoops easily, then blend one portion with rum and ice as in the recipe card. It is thick and sweet straight from the can, which is why it needs no extra syrup.

What to serve with

The lime daiquiri suits spicy and grilled food: coconut shrimp, spring rolls, chicken satay, fish tacos or a Thai green curry. For dessert, lemon cheesecake or a fruit sorbet.

Ingredient substitutes

Two pale limeade daiquiris garnished with lime and mint

  • No limeade concentrate: use 1 1/2 oz fresh lime juice and 1 oz simple syrup instead of the 4 oz concentrate. This is close to a classic frozen daiquiri.
  • No white rum: vodka keeps the flavor neutral; blanco tequila turns it into a frozen margarita.
  • Sugar: the concentrate is already sweet, so most people skip it. Honey or agave work too; start with half as much.
  • Fruit versions: blend in 1/2 cup frozen strawberries, peach or mango with the ice for a fruit daiquiri.
